What’s
New at CCA?
September
2008

Dear
Parents,
School is back in session and Capitol Christian Academy is different. There is a new atmosphere, new teachers and several new students. We are moving forward for Christ and the education of our children. Sure there are bumped along the way. That is part of life's challenges but there areb many blessing along the way. What way you ask? God's way. We are bathing this school in prayer and asking God to lead us. As the Apostle Paul puts it: "reaching forth"
At
Capitol Christian Academy, the Word of God is the foundational textbook. Basing our teaching on a Christian worldview, we use the academic tools and resources necessary to prepare our students for life and eternity. The right attitude towards God is the first step in the learning
process. It is the purpose of every teacher to assist you in the “training up”
of your children “in the way they should go.” (Proverbs 22:6). We are partners
with God and you, the parent, in fulfilling your God ordained purpose. (Deuteronomy 6:6,7)
As Administrator, I carry a responsibility before God for directing this school in the way it should go. Please understand, I do not walk on water. You can be assured that I take my position and responsibilities seriously. The
implementation of new policies, procedures, curriculum and staff are essential to
providing the quality “Christian” education you desire for your children. I am
honored by your confidence and trust. I covet your prayers and support. Will I make mistakes. You bet! I am human and know it. The key is that I will not purposely make a wrong decision or mistake. You children are important and precious to me as they are to you.
This year, we began using the Rosetta Stone Spanish Language curriculum in a well equiped computer/language lab. We are using many new textbooks and several additional classes for middle and high school. The SOS (Switched On Schoolhouse) allows to supplement and offer some courses we could not otherwise provide. Be assured, we will use it correctly.
We
are raising the standard in academics and conduct. Clear speaking and writing
will be stressed in every class. Partnering with Mr. Carl Goode, president of Empowering Minds Foundation, Inc. of Largo, MD, are teaching our students to communicate and express
themselves orally and in writing. They will be expected to do their work on a
timely basis. We have a goal of every senior earning a college scholarship by the end of the academic year.
Students
in grades 6 through 12 must have a clear testimony of saving faith in Jesus
Christ, a desire to live for God, and a willingness to follow the rules to
attend CCA. We are training future
leaders and servants of God. This requires a willingness, on the student’s
part, to cooperate in the learning process.
Regular
church attendance is a must for all students. Students not regularly involved
in a Bible believing church encouraged to attend Capitol Baptist Church.
Attending a Christian school necessitates consistent spiritual teaching at
home, church and school.
Welcome to the new Capitol Christian Academy. We're glad you are here. Monday, September 22 at 7:00pm will be the first Parent Teacher Fellowship. Meet with your child’s teachers and assist where you can. We want to help you raise your children to the glory of God.
